Terms of use
Last updated 1 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Scope, provided by Slipstream Engineering. Using Scope means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind that company.
1. What Scope is
Scope is an assistant that works inside Microsoft Teams and Slack. You send it a question, an instruction or a file, and it returns work in the same conversation.
Scope is early software. We set up most teams by hand, features change, and it will sometimes get things wrong. Check anything consequential before you act on it or send it to a client.
2. Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite. Tell us promptly at jon@slipstreamengineering.com if you think access has been misused.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use Scope to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- handle data you have no right to handle;
- attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
- generate material that harasses, defrauds or impersonates people;
- resell it as your own product without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend accounts that do these things, with notice where we can.
4. Your content
Your messages, files and outputs remain yours. You give us only the permission needed to run the service, to process, store and transmit that content so Scope can do the work you asked for, including passing it to the providers listed in our privacy policy. We claim no ownership of your content and, subject to the law, you own the output Scope produces for you.
5. Plans and payment
- Free: 20 messages a day, files up to 10 MB, one platform. No card required.
- Pro: $100 per user per month, billed monthly. Unlimited messages, files up to 100 MB, Teams and Slack together.
- Enterprise: priced separately under a signed agreement.
Fees are exclusive of tax. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current month. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before changing prices for an existing subscription.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Scope running but we do not offer a service level commitment on the Free or Pro plans, and we may change or withdraw features. Enterprise agreements may say otherwise, and where they do, they win.
7. No warranty
Scope is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular we do not warrant that output is accurate, complete or suitable for any decision you make. Scope is not legal, financial, medical or professional advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Ending it
You can stop using Scope and remove it from your workspace at any time. We may end or suspend access if you materially breach these terms. Sections 4, 7, 8 and 10 survive.
10. General
These terms are the whole agreement between us about Scope, unless you have signed something else with us. If a provision is unenforceable the rest stands. We may update these terms and will change the date above; continuing to use Scope after that means you accept the update.
Governing law and venue are as set out in your signed agreement with us, or otherwise the jurisdiction in which Slipstream Engineering is established.
